Local yokels

Following the presence of the fair in town this last week, there has been a report in the local paper that the level of vandalism has been so high that they will not allow the fair in the centre of town again. My younger daughter tells me that it's not the fairground people that are the problem but the "stupid local people" (her words, not mine).

Don't they realise that if they want interesting things to happen here they have to behave as though they deserve them?
